How will accelerating technological change affect human mental and physical capabilities? What opportuntities and problems will change bring? How will change impact the environment? How will society, political leaders and institutions react?
Over the last year, the regular Saturday meetings of the UK Transhumanist Association have attracted larger and larger crowds eager to listen to and debate with speakers seeking to answer these vital questions.
Over the last year we’ve heard from speakers including:
- Shannon Vyff on the work of The Immortality Institute
- Dr Shane Legg on Machine Super Intelligence
- Dr Aubrey de Grey & Dr Anders Sandberg on the 2009 Singularity Summit
- Dr Suzanne Gildert Quantum Computers and the creation of human-level artificial intelligence
- Amon Twyman on Extreme Simulation Scenarios
- James Woudhuysen The future of energy
Inspired by the increasing popularity of these regular meetings, this one-day conference, in London on 24th April 2010, gathers together some of the leading thinkers in nanotechnology, biotechnology, cognitive science and their real-world implications.
With 9 speaker sessions and two panel discussions confronting the big issues of tech change, this is your opportunity to engage in some of the big debates that will shape our future.
